Product Description
The 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL W113, is arguably Mercedes’ most desired classic of all time, apart from the Gullwing 300. It is the standard of what it means to own a classic car. The “Pagoda”, named for its concave hard top, was designed by Paul Bracq. It was one of the very first sports cars that had safety features like a crumple zone and a rigid passenger cell. Through the years we have pushed all its 168 horsepower through the wheels from road trips, car shows and meets, outings and events, never to disappoint. It is an icon of design, practicality, innovation, and style. It is not necessarily rare as it was somewhat mass-produced (in the standards of the early 70s), yet it is a car that never fails to impress. This beautiful showstopper had won the trophy for the best open top classic car at the 2017 Dubai Classic car show in between 700+ candidates, marking its genuine and precise build, not your average vintage pagoda. It was restored in 2005 and includes an original radio, an original Frigidaire air conditioning unit, both a hard and a soft top (black), and only requires some minor engine tuning. It possesses a very solid body with no previous rust or accidents.
